Blue/Purple Bismuth Dragon

Description

They've been a long time in coming, but bismuth dragons are back! I'm selling at A-Kon this weekend, so it was the perfect time to pull out my bismuth chunks and make a few dragons to match. I'm trying to use up my older bismuth pieces, which are well formed, but don't have the most vibrant coloration. I bought a new set of bismuth from another vendor, which has much nicer colors, and I'm champing at the bit to use them, so I'm trying to work through the older pieces first.

The Solar Color Dust pigment powders helped me to achieve those bright, metallic colors. This dragon's body is a black base that has been dusted with version 2 of the Red/Purple/Blue chameleon pigment, and I must say this is one of my absolute favorites out of the chameleon pigments that I ordered. Some of the pigments have a softer look to them, much like Pearl-Ex, but not this one! This powder's colors are really strong and sparkly, and I love it. Why have blue or purple pigment powder, when you can have both at once? xD This dragon's wings and horns were dusted with Golden/Green/Red chameleon pigment, which has a nice, soft look that I thought matched the pinks and golds in the bismuth piece quite well.

Crafted from black polymer clay, glass beads, Solar Color Dust chameleon pigment (Red/Purple/Blue version 2 and Golden/Green/Red), bismuth. This dragon is for sale in my Etsy shop.

Metallic pigments give me life!
