Black Dragon, White Wolf

Behold! This is what A Few Wolf Sketches and Kismet, the Flying Fox were in preparation for. I'd received a commission to make a dragon and wolf cuddling together, and I'd never made a wolf before, so I needed to practice first. Here's my first actual sculpted wolf - he's being protected by his companion's wing. ^^

It's funny that after all that preparation, the wolf didn't take too long to make. Or rather, it took as long to make as it takes to make a dragon, but not significantly longer. I think I got a decent amount of fluff in there, and I'm pretty happy with how the eyes turned out, though maybe I should have made the pupils a bit bigger to make him look a bit less freaked out. Anyway, now that I have some idea on how to sculpt canids, I should definitely make some more. Preferably in crazy colors, like purple!

Crafted from Premo polymer clay, varnished with a gloss glaze.

Most of the time I make dragons... but not always!
