Wark, the Griff-critter

Description

Hey, check it out - something that isn't a dragon! xD I was feeling a little bit burned out from working on Christmas commissions last week, so I thought I'd sit down and make something for my own amusement. I have all these glass eyes that I've slowly been painting my way through, but I haven't had the opportunity to do much of anything with them yet, so I thought I'd start there. What started out as a night fury turned into... this. I guess I'm going to go ahead and say he's a griffin, even if the tail's not quite right for that.

He's found a home already! His new owner told me his name is Wark, due to the sound that he makes when he's happy. Also, he's apparently obsessed with receiving kisses. So cute. :3 As the pose shows, he's a playful, curious fellow, and he has a rainbow mohawk to go with his rainbow wings and butt-feathers. :giggle: Spontaneity is fun. I am definitely looking forward to making more 'random' sculpts now that I'm almost through my holiday orders. I'd really like to try a bald eagle griffin at some point, and I think I'd like to try to make it more griffin-like.

Crafted from black Premo polymer clay, hand-painted glass eyes, and Jacquard Pearl-Ex mica powders.
