Suspicious Stare

Happy Raturday!

Well, maybe not the happiest... I'm posting this because Eclair passed away on Thursday and I wanted to post a picture of her as a memorial. Eclair was a busy little thing that was also TERRIFIED of the camera, so while this isn't the best picture ever, it's the best one I've got. She was just over three years old.

Eclair was named after the dessert, due to the beautiful black stripe that ran all the way down her back. However, despite the sweet name, she was anything but! She was my evil little queen bee who would constantly assert her dominance over others with fur yanking and a fantastic roundhouse kick. She was able to leap two foot tall barriers with ease, which earned her the nickname 'Pesky Rat'. Eclair never wanted to have anything to do with me, so I let her do her own thing - she was happiest that way.

Eclair made me laugh with her antics, and amazed me with her gracefulness, but it's also due to her that I'll go back to keeping only male rats. I prefer large, cuddly, affectionate rats, and she was none of these things.
