Purple and Blue Gem Dragon by HowManyDragons Purple and Blue Gem Dragon by HowManyDragons
Whoops, just realized I'm going to be on a plane tomorrow, so I'll post something now. e_e =LittleFatDragons recently reminded me of how pretty Premo's purple pearl clay is, so I thought I'd make a dragon with it. I have to admit, it's pretty nice with those blue undertones, but I wish it wasn't quite so... violet. I'd like something more on the blue end of things. I guess I could mix up my own!

Anyway, not too much to say about this one - she has a few extra embellishments for fun, and I gave her an awesomely sparkly rhinestone and complementary earrings. What can I say, dragons love their treasure!

This dragon has been sold, but you can still see additional photos are on Etsy. In sadder, sales-related news, I did not get into Anime Boston's 2014 Artists' Alley, so I will not be attending this year. Sorry! :(

Yes, I use a tinfoil core for all my dragons. It saves on clay and makes the figure less likely to be squashed out of shape. :)

Oh wow, that blue pearl is pretty...I wish it was still a color.  I know they give you the recipes on the polyform site to mix them up but they never look quite the same!

I do love the bluish undertones in that purple, but I agree that it would be nice if it was a bit more bluish :D  Still lovely!

Yeahhhh, I am pretty sure there is no way to mix that color up with Premo's current lineup. You'd have to delve in Kato or something, I think. -_-

I found blue pearl today at my local art store...3 blocks of it and they weren't rock hard, bought them all!  I haven't ever seen it anywhere else.  yay for not having to try and mix my own XD

I was too!  I thought for sure it had been discontinued so I was really excited to find itDance!    I read somewhere, earlier today, that a lot of the discontinued colors had to do with places like Michael's not wanting to carry them (probably not enough people buying them I guess) but that you can still occasionally find things like cobalt blue and fluorescent yellow/green at certain online stores

Yeah, I've bought discontinued colors online before, and I do agree that those colors were probably discontinued because the big retail stores decided to stop stocking them. I don't really understand why people weren't buying the old pearl colors though - they're all so pretty! D:

maybe because a lot of polymer clay crafters use it to make jewelry and people didn't appreciate the "ooooo shiny!" like we do La la la la  I wish I could have seen the red and green pearl - the bright green pearl is OK but I like a nice forest green pearl and mixing that up is a paaaain in the butt.

I like the bright green pearl quite a bit, but it's not like the old green pearl, which was more of an emerald color. It's so much easier to not have to mix colors - which is why I don't do it often. xD

Colored Premo polymer clay, for the most part. I use some of the Michaels Craftsmart brand as well

I love that color too! It's Premo's Blue Pearl.
Premo used to have a gorgeous lineup of pearls (red, green, blue), but they've all been discontinued. You might be able to find it online, though. I've bought discontinued colors online before.

Yeah, I don't know. They probably go by sales volume, but I don't know why people wouldn't be buying those colors - they're so pretty!
