Whee, I've been wanting to show this one off for a long time! I loooove Chrysalis's character design, and I'd been wanting to make a dragon version of her for quite some time. She was super time-consuming - putting the holes in her arms/legs took forever, as did mixing the clay for her gradient-toned saddle (which, I just realized you can't even see in these pictures... :< ). Her wings were a pain in the butt to figure out too - I had a lot of trouble getting their shape right, plus the translucent clay kept tearing on me. Le sigh.
Still, hooray, I did it! My favorite part? Those wickedly spiked horns. I'm so happy with how they turned out!
I use a pasta machine and a lot of patience. If you're curious, you can look up 'Skinner blends' - it's a technique that gives you fantastically smooth gradients in clay. :]
Well, I do have a second set of wings and some leftover gradiated clay, so I am planning to do a v2 sometime soon. I was planning to take her to Otakon, though.... unless you'd like to buy her outright?
Thank you, I'll take a look at that (I wanted to know cause it could help me quite a bit so again thank you )
Nah take her to Otakon first and then we'll talk about me getting her I've got to talk to my boyfriend about using his paypal to do the transaction and how that would all work (I need time cause I'm a procrastinator XD)
