My Little Pony-dragons: Crystal Rarity by HowManyDragons My Little Pony-dragons: Crystal Rarity by HowManyDragons
Okay, season 3 was kind of underwhelming, but I did love the crystal pony designs. I totally had to make a crystal Rarity!

She is made entirely out of translucent clay, which looks really awesome, especially when she's held up to the light (I looooove the purple translucent SO much!). Also, I solved my unicorn horn dilemma - since I think unicorn-type horns look silly on my dragons, why not just give them spiraled regular horns? I think it's much better than not giving them horns at all. C:

Rarity is up for sale on Etsy.

This has to be my favorite out of all of your dragons so far. Translucent clay looks good on Rarity ;) please do more like this!

Also, do you have a tutorial on how to make sculptures like this? I wouldn't mind giving it a go!

Thanks! There will definitely be more translucent dragons at some point. :)

I've been wanting to put together a tutorial on just that subject, but I haven't gotten around to it yet. Hopefully I'll have the chance to do something on that end soon.

These are really amazing! :D I love the amount of detailed simplicity you put into these (LOL sorry did that make sense?? They're simple but some of the small simple things in them have like a ton of detail behind them (IDK :P))

Aw, thanks! They do look kind of simple, but a lot of work goes into each one! :)

Ugh. Translucent clay is such a pain to work with. I can never get it soft enough.

Yeah, the Premo brand, at least, tends to stay kind of crumbly. I haven't found it to be unworkable, though. What brand are you using?

It's Premo Sculpey.

You could try adding some liquid clay/softener - might hold things together better.

I actually found out that the clay doesn't soften in larger amounts like normal clay. I sort of went up slowly in quantity and it worked fine. But thank you anyways :)
