My Little Glitter Monsters

This week's theme is glitter! I've been having a lot of fun playing around with the stuff, the result being some dragons that really run the gamut from subtle to over-the-top. There is some question as to whether my workspace will ever recover or if I'm doomed to be picking minuscule pieces of glitter out of everything for the rest of my life. xD I've been referring to these dragons as 'glitter monsters'. I like to imagine them rolling around in piles of glitter that they regard as their treasure hoards.

The one in the upper left is my favorite by far. She's completely coated in extra-fine glitter and looks so cool under the light. I keep finding myself picking her up just so I can look at how the light plays off her 'scales'. The translucent white dragon has both extra-fine glitter and large green glitter flakes mixed in for a very different look. Very pokey and difficult to work with though, I'm not sure I'll try it again. The green dragon the lower left was an attempt to get my extra-fine iridescent glitter to mesh better with the background color, but now it shows up as more red than green on him, so I guess it's kind of impossible. xP I really like the black dragon in the lower right too. I made my own glitter-mixed black clay because I'm just not a huge fan of Premo's Twinkle Twinkle clay and wanted to use my own glitter. Very happy with the little flecks of green and blue, but it was VERY time-consuming to make. NB: it takes a LOT of glitter to start showing up in a clay mix, so don't skimp unless you want to be adding glitter forever.
