Lady Justice

Recent commission for a client on Etsy, who asked that I make a dragon version of Lady Justice, standing on top of a book and holding a set of scales. Blindfold only covers one eye by customer request. This was a lot of fun to work on, mostly because it was a challenge to figure out how to make the scales. I originally considered making them entirely out of polymer clay, but I thought it would be more fun to have the scales be able to move. I ended up making them out of wire, though it took a few attempts to get them sized correctly with respect to the dragon (third time's the charm!). Love the bright emerald green of this piece - I've been hoarding my last precious bit of discontinued Premo Green Pearl and I'm down to maybe the last two dragons' worth of clay. Gotta make it count! xD

Crafted out of colored polymer clay and wire, stands about two inches tall.
