I haven't posted about these in a long time, but my ornament-making endeavors continue! I have refined my original three dice-holding designs (the original sculpts looked so derpy!). I also added a couple new designs this year, in an attempt to cater to people who like dragons but might not be into tabletop gaming. I really really love the new charm design - I thought it would be super cute to have a little charm dangling from the dragon's paws, and I am so happy with the result. I also had fun making the sleepy baby dragon design. It ended up a bit smaller than I would have liked, but it's actually the perfect size to hold a mini half-sized d20, or a little crystal gem.
All ornaments are colored resin casts based on my original sculptures. They have been accented with acrylic paint and sealed with a gloss glaze. I have five different designs and eight different color options. I can't believe I used to paint the entire ornament by hand. Granted, I used an airbrush, but it was still so time consuming. Working with resin, like any skill, is a journey filled with trial and error (so much error). But little by little, I'm getting better at it. I'd love to try casting something fully three-dimensional next, as I've only made single-sided pieces thus far.
Ornaments are still available for Christmas arrival. If you'd like one, please take a look at the ornaments section in my shop.
